‎Djuka Begovic () directed by Branko Schmidt • Film + cast • Letterboxd

He is a deranged and violent character who wants to live an unrestrained life, indulging in alcohol, extravagance and erotic pleasures. He advocates the truth at any price, seeking satisfaction in all that surrounds him, and is affirming physicality as the most complete begovc with the ineffable.

Ivan Kozarac was a Croatian novelist, poet and writer of short stories. He was an active writer for only four years. The novel describes many Slavonian traditions in an almost documentary style. It has since been made into a theatrical play and a movie by Branko Schmidt. Kozarac failed to attract a particular attention to himself in his lifetime. He wrote much about the corruption of women and fashion and took a critical stance towards the Church, the wealthy life of some priests, dukka the false love towards God.
