If you are using a router, the Gateway address must be configured on the computers and the Brother machine. In a larger network, we recommend a Network Shared printing environment. The Brother machine needs to have an appropriate IP address configuration unless the machine is connected via the USB or the parallel interface at the server. This type of network has a central access point at the heart of the network. The access point can also act as a bridge or a gateway to a wired network.
When the Brother wireless machine your machine is part of this network, it receives all print jobs via an access point. This function allows the print server to communicate with other devices by using its DNS name. Mac OS X Telnet The Brother print server supports Telnet server for command line configuration. The Web Services also let you check the current status of the machine from your computer.
Web server HTTP The Brother print server is equipped with a built in web server that allows you to monitor its status or change some of its configuration settings using a web browser. However, you can easily change this IP address number to match with the IP address details of your network.

If your network is configured for Authentication and Encryption, the following screen will appear. When configuring your Brother wireless machine, you must configure your machine to match the Authentication and Encryption settings you wrote down on page 29 for your existing wireless network. Reset the print server back to its factory default settings see Reset the network settings to the factory default brohter page Confirm the security settings of your wireless network and try starting from f again.
Disconnect the network cable between your access point hub or router and the machine, and click Next or Finish.
You have completed the wireless setup. If you chose to install the printer driver in step g, Go to Installing the printer driver on page The following instructions will install your Brother machine in a network environment using the Brother installer application for Windows If you are going to connect your Brother machine to your network, we recommend that you contact your system administrator prior to installation. Choose Automatic install Advanced and click Next.
Please refer to the instruction manual that came with your access point. If the same message is indicated again, reset the print server back to its factory default settings and try again.
Wireless configuration for Windows Click Next or Finish. If you chose to install the printer driver in step g, Go to the next step. Check the box after you confirm that you have completed the wireless settings, and maunal click Next. Go to Installing the printer driver on page Before configuring the wireless settings IMPORTANT The following instructions will install your Brother machine in a network environment using the Brother installer application for Windows You must know your wireless network settings before you proceed with this installation.
Make sure you take notes on all the current settings such as SSID, authentication and encryption of your wireless network environment. Read the Important Notice to enable the wireless interface. Hold down the Go button for 10 seconds, and then release the Go button when the printer prints a Network Configuration page.
Check the hl5370dw after you confirm the wireless setting is enabled, and then click Next. Make sure you take notes on all the settings such as SSID, channel, authentication and encryption of your computer.
